People Update
Delivering the Best organisational capabilities is a key pillar of our HR People Plan for 2020. We’re encouraging everyone to be the BEST they can be and this continues to be our ambition for this year.
Being propelled into the current Pandemic has undoubtedly brought us some challenges. This unprecedented situation allowed us to demonstrate our agility and adaptability.
With a road to return now finalised, the emphasis is very much on our people, that journey and how to help people.
We are all weathering the same storm, but not in the same boat.
Why return to the office
Many of our roles require a high degree of collaboration and open discourse. Having a physical presence in the office encourages quick and spontaneous idea sharing (and eliminates frustrating miscommunication).
When you spend valuable time with your co-workers, that social foundation makes it easier to voice your ideas and is easier to build relationships in person. At SHS we value the informal relationships that are built with colleagues as much as the formal ones.
When you physically work alongside your co-workers, it is easier to step in and offer a helping hand to resolve issues when someone needs helps, or when you need help yourself.
Getting your work-life balance right- working at home all the time can blur the lines between home and work. Your home should be a source of rest, relaxation, and family. When the
line between work and home becomes blurred, it can become more difficult to leave your work life behind you at the end of each working day.
