  Life after Lockdown
    Our Stories
What did you start doing during lockdown that you hadn’t done before?
Growing vegetables in the garden, I have
carrots, radishes, lettuce and Maris Piper potatoes, so if anyone is feeling hungry, I
would be very happy to help – home delivery
of course, have not been to Ireland for a few years now!

During Lockdown I have been helping to run our usual Cubs group online. It has been a massive learning curve running zoom meetings but we are now running weekly sessions. We have been organising
activities that the Cubs will find fun and keep them engaged for up to an hour a week, trying to keep some sense of normality has
been tough yet really rewarding. These children are really missing their friends. Last weekend we ran a “Virtual Camp” 84 cubs and their families
from the area took part in various activities from physical challenges, cooking, building models to making bug houses. We all slept in tents, or dens we had built. There was a Kahoot Quiz and Campfire stories - all from the children’s homes.

The one thing I have started during lockdown and continued religiously is a workout every evening with my fellow gym friend on the Houseparty app! There are some days when I find it so hard to motivate myself, but I have the right people in my life and we are always encouraging & pushing each other to smash our goals!
Jessica - SHS GB
Hand knitting! I started knitting chunky blankets. So far I have sold over 50 since mid-May through my Esty and Instagram page -
@woolycouture. I have worked with various local bloggers to help build the brand! It has been great to keep myself
occupied at nights, since we can’t go anywhere!
