Life after Lockdown
Our Stories
What I missed the most during this lockdown?
I miss eating lunch with all my colleagues together in the canteen and having a great conversation with them all.
Mohammed - Crucials
It’s an obvious answer and one that most people will probably relate to - ‘touch’ my
friends and family. We are exceptionally lucky to live in a time when technology really has come into its own. We can speak to our loved ones, we can see our loved
ones, but what technology hasn’t managed to deliver is the touch, the smell, the senses. I’ve never wanted to hug someone so much in my life before. The awkwardness
of just saying goodbye when you stand 2 metres apart, or at the end of the garden path is just consistently a painful reminder of what is happening. Being close enough to tap someone on the back ‘well done’, or comfort someone with a tap on the arm to let them know you are there. The small things we take for granted. So when this is all over, anyone looking for a hug, just give me the nod, and there will be plenty to go round!
Ali - Standard Brands
The things I missed most during lockdown were meeting friends, family and having a go at trying to get my golf handicap down from a giant 25. Although I have to say I enjoyed the time at home playing games and chatting with my wife and kids.

What are you looking forward to doing when lockdown measures are fully relaxed?
The obvious answer to what I am looking forward to most is a good
social. I think the current circumstances only highlight what social
creatures we are and how important it is to have that interaction with
other individuals. I have also missed my Saturday morning Parkrun
routine followed by a well-earned breakfast at the local café. Talking of
running, all events have obviously been either delayed or cancelled and this year
was meant to be my first ever full marathon. It’s scheduled to take place in September
so perhaps there’s still a chance but its difficult training hard for something you know might not happen.
Sam - 3V
Getting out, seeing my family, mountain biking with friends and filling up the diary. Not taking anything for granted.
