As the Government set out social distancing measures and dictated that people who could work from home should do so, a substantial number of our employees moved to remote working. From shifting equipment across multiple sites, to responding to hundreds of service requests in a short period of time, the team did an outstanding job. In addition, Zoom software was installed to facilitate collaborative working across teams and functions. This has helped all divisions to adapt to our ‘new world’. Performance is about “showing resilience and steadfastly pushing for results, despite unforeseen challenges” and ultimately delivering. This team has epitomised the SPIRIT values in every sense.

Karen played a pivotal role in keeping spirits at the
Bottlegreen and Cal B sites up by supporting those working on the factory floor. When flying was no longer possible, Karen drove between the sites to ensure staff were fully briefed on developments. Embarking on a 6-hour trip from Cumnock to the Bottlegreen site in Woodchester, Karen briefed colleagues face to face whilst adhering to social distancing measures.
A few days later, she had the long drive back to check in on the Cal B team. In addition to keeping staff briefed, Karen was responsible for overseeing the successful BRC factory audits for Cal B and Bottlegreen. A superb achievement, Karen is an inspiration to all who know her and a professional in every aspect of her work.

With COVID-19 impacting on all businesses, the factory at Castlebellingham found hand sanitiser was in high demand. As the weeks progressed, it became increasingly difficult to replenish stock. Freddie and Renato showed initiative by sourcing the necessary ingredients to make hand sanitiser for use on the premises. The hand sanitiser was made to exacting standards by the team who had the skills to do so. An excellent example of using initiative to benefit others and living our SPIRIT values.

When the Coronavirus pandemic hit the headlines in
February 2020, the Procurement team was put under pressure. As customers placed orders for larger volumes than ever anticipated, the sales team seized the opportunity to maximise sales across many brands in NI & ROI. Demonstrating excellent teamwork, Procurement worked closely with the sales team and Brand Owners to place orders. They liaised with Transport to ensure delivery as quickly as possible (including weekends), ensured the appropriate warehousing was equipped to accept orders and kept Customer Services up to date with availability of stock. This resulted in a significant uplift in sales, made possible by Procurement embracing the Teamwork SPIRIT value.

Following the retirement of a long serving account manager, Hannah stepped up to help customer services effectively manage accounts. Acting as an interim account manager for several accounts at the same time, in addition to juggling her sales support duties, her infectious ‘can do’ attitude and attention to detail delivered a stellar team performance.

With a brief to produce a video to mark 3V’s relaunch to Group Board within a short timeframe, it was clear that using a video production company was not going to be an option. To showcase the new brand design, Sandy used her initiative, skills and available video software options to produce a high quality, professional video. The VT was presented to the Group Board and shareholders. It also featured in the internal company relaunch and at the Vision 21 conference in January. Sandy is a team player who recognises the importance of our Initiative value.
