         ⇒  DISCRIPTION;  A tree with a

            straight stem. The stem often has

            scars from where the old leaves

            have fallen off. The leaves are fan-shaped, with long stalks  having recurved

            thorns. This is a very difficult species to propagate and is a slow grower. It

            grows up to 20m  in height.




         ⇒  WHERE IT IS FOUND; It grows in area stretching from Nata village, westward to

            the Okavango Delta





         ⇒  USES;The nuts are eaten raw.

            The leaves are used to make

            baskets.
