Congratulations 2021-2022 Leadership Lansing Graduates!
hirty-two outstanding leaders from the Lansing region completed the 2021-2022 Leadership Lansing program on May
10. The May session featured a panel of non-profit leaders who talked about the role of their organizations and the
Tnon-profit community in building a better region. Justin Sheehan, executive
director of Lansing Promise and a Leadership Lansing alumnus, moderated the
panel, which included Carmen Turner, president and CEO of the Boys and Girls Club
of Lansing, Michelle Lantz, CEO of the Greater Lansing Food Bank and Erik Larson,
executive director of Impression 5. Following the panel discussion, the group got a
behind-the-scenes peak at the Impression 5 Science Center.
The Leadership Lansing year concluded with a graduation ceremony featuring a
presentation by Chris Sell, director of alumni and entrepreneur engagement at the
MSU Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Chris is also an alumnus of
Leadership Lansing. Tim Daman, president & CEO of the Lansing Regional Chamber
of Commerce, made some brief remarks congratulating the participants in this year’s program and presenting each leader
with a plaque commemorating their experience.
Leadership Lansing is a program designed to develop and equip the next generation of community leaders in Greater
Lansing. In the past seven years, 259 leaders have completed the program. The 2022-2023 cohort will begin in October.
Applications will be available on the Lansing Regional Chamber website this summer. l
