A Gold contract whose expiration month on is January and whose
expiration year is 2017 …
• Would have GC is the symbol for Gold
• Would have F is the symbol for January
• Would have 7 is the symbol for 2017
Therefore the symbol would be GCF7 for this GOLD contract example.
