KNOT KNOW-HOW
A typical Samoan shark noose is made
from 21mm ( 7 /8 in) thick sinnet. It’s 6.7m
(22ft) long, and is seized for 1.5m (5ft)
from the eye. The noose is formed at one
end, while the other is split into two to
allow it to be lashed around the canoe’s
rear boom.
