KNOT KNOW-HOW
How to choose the best combination
of leads and bights? According to Ashley,
any combination can be used, providing
the number of leads and the number of
bights do not have a common divisor
– that is, it should not be possible to
divide them by the same number. He
recommends using a prime number for
the larger dimension, and any smaller
number for the other dimension.
7 Follow the lead all the way
around, making sure the line stays
parallel to the first round. Tighten
the knot and cut the ends fl ush.
