Levels of personal characteristics
Personal characteristics (affective domain) of individual student shall be assessed and
recorded on 4 achievement levels during each academic learning session, as well as,
during any activity, by the respective in-charges.
Outstanding: Personal characteristics are beyond expectations and targets.
Very Good: Personal characteristics meet expectations.
Good: Personal characteristics are towardsexpectations.
Need Improvement: Personal characteristics are below expectations.
Reporting Frequency – Quarterly
Academic session is viewed as 4 Quarters instead of two terms.
Condition for promotion and retention
The focus of formative assessment is to ensure students are progressing on their learn-
ing on a continuous basis. Student progress to the next class shall be based on the
following criteria:
• Achieve an overall learning progress level of ‘meeting’ in all the subjects.
• Personal characteristics are at a minimum of ‘good’ level.
• Has a minimum of 90% attendance in an academic year.
Grading
Tests/Exams
In each term for each of the subject a grade is given across the sections by the subject
teachers. For grading students from all sections of the same grade, students are placed
in order of rank and the grades awarded in the following proportions:
