PURPOSE AND AUDIENCE OF E-PORTFOLIO
This e-portfolio is designed and set up by a university of Johannesburg student for the
purposes of reflection. It is an opportunity for me as a student to reflect on the course
work I have completed over the past 9 months. This portfolio will be showcasing all the
work I have been doing during my work integrated learning (WIL) for three different terms,
which is referred to as WIL 1, 2 and 3.
The e-portfolio will function as a personal record of my learning and to provide evidence
of what I have achieved over the course of my academic year. As such I can use this
portfolio well over my degree for work purposes or in my quest to further my studies going
into honours programme. This portfolio will help me reflect on my professional
development to analyze strengths and weaknesses during the course of my practice and
enter the honours programme being informed on what I need to improve in my practice.
In this case I'll inform my future development positively for professional purposes in my
career.
This reflective tenacities will provide accurate and sufficient information for the audience
of the portfolio. The audience include myself, course tutor, lecturer, future employer
(school principal), interviewer/ interview panel, external examiner (apart from course
lecturer) and moderator.
Situation analysis for WIL 1, 2 and 3
For WIL 1 identified Tsakane Secondary School as a suitable school for me to do work
integrated learning at. It is situated at Tsakane Brakpan in the middle of houses in the
township. The area surrounding the school is a quiet area which has shops around and
near taxi area. The school is a double story on the one side with two blocks of classes,
on the other side the school building is not a double story building and it has three blocks.
The administration office is situated on the front of the school in the entrance area. The
staff of the school are very welcoming and united in a sense that there is common respect
among the staff (teachers, cleaners, clerks, security personnel, principal and deputy
