5.2.5 Suggest one advanced topic, which you can use for a gifted learner in
Mathematics.
Algebra
5.2.6 Can you suggest one enrichment strategy for this specific learner?
I would always have extra work for that learner which they could make use of when they
have completed the work that I have given them in my class.
5.2.7 Review the CAPS document and list the challenges and opportunities you
foresee when teaching the contents of questions 9-10 and state whether the
questions address all the elements required by the CAPS document.
The problems I foresee when teaching question 9 include learners who are not able to
factorize differentiated problems in order to find the turning points and even the concavity
of the graph. The learners may not have understood the concept of factorization when
they first did it in the earlier grades. The problem I foresee when teaching question 10
include learners not being able to understand what the teacher means when they speak
of distance. Making an analysis of the CAPs document I see that question 9 does not
include first principle which the CAPs document said it would be examined.
