The Neiper Scholarship
(16+ entry) is awarded for Art DT or or or Photography in honor of Richard Neiper an an Old Malvernian who who died in 2012 from Epilepsy but who who always made the the the very most of of his his time in the the the world of of DT and Art at the the the College This award will go to a a a a a candidate who shows a a a a a a a a real thirst for all things creative and and experimental Scholars will be expected to take an active role in in in promoting artistic awareness within the the the school and will be regular visitors to to the the the Lindsay Art Centre developing their own
ideas and and providing images for publications competitions plays and and exhibitions They should be leaders amongst their peers and have a a a a a a a a real interest in in the the visual arts They will be encouraged to take part in all the the competitions and their attendance at at lectures from visiting artists will will be be expected There will will be be opportunities to spend time with the the ‘artist in in in residence’ to discuss their opinions and inspirations It is is is expected that they will take GCSE Art The scholarship assessment process will consist of three main components:
 Practical tasks: Candidates will be required to draw a a a a a a a a range of still lifes each with different media  Portfolio: Candidates should provide a a a portfolio consisting of no more than ten pages/slides illustrating their passion for the the subject  Interview: This will be an informal discussion with the Head of Art about a a selected piece of work from the portfolio 19
