CHAIRMAN’S CHAT
Well the weather is getting better(?) and it‘s time to get the camper kitted out and go camping!
This months TT has been held back a couple of weeks to allow the results of the AGM to be included. I am hoping that the new voting format will have encouraged more member involvement and so a statistic will also be included, as this has not been done before (recently) this will prove illuminating.
There have not been any nominations for the vacant positions on the committee and as we are now in need of some willing helpers, I still hope someone will agree to be co-opted to take on some of the less onerous tasks... oh did I say that? There are of course no onerous tasks, they are all a pleasure!
Following her engine overhaul, Connie is running very well and our rst camping mission to Bus Types went without any problems. We exhibited with both the new gazebos and thanks to Christies negotiating skills, we had a huge plot. We have kept to the club colours of black and yellow and this stood out really well with the bunting and table cloths being particularly spectacular (all handmade by Val).
Considering the rather cold and damp weather limiting attendance, the sign up of new members was very pleasing and the free drinks and biscuits went down well. We hope to repeat the free drinks at other shows so
please do call in! The black gazebos will make an appearance at several shows this year and our next one will be at the JK Open Day, so we hope to see some members there.
In order to provide a better service to members, I have made a 12 volt to 19 volt convertor so that we can run the membership laptop from the van‘s solar panel when there is no mains hook up. This means memberships can be renewed even if long expired, as the database can be accessed easily. Credit cards can be easily accepted for payments with the batteries being kept topped up all day.
In order to nd out what our members want from their club, a survey will be published in a future TT and your responses WILL in uence what we provide. As you may notice, some things are changing but we need to move in the right direction.
I‘m o to work on the new ag pole donated by a trader at Bus Types in the hope of xing it to Connie.
Happy Camping!
