Help!!!! Just experienced some power loss under load on my T2 1972 camper and decided to check the electrics and fuel. So far so good, but I noticed a metal strip where the engine number is stamped and it is nothing like my V5 info???? V5 states AD226187 for a 1641cc twin port T2 engine, as I assumed when I bought it, but the metal strip says B5540 B480394???? Now this is where I need help as I think this may be a beetle engine, 1584 / single port. Can anyone shed any light on it for me? It certainly looks like a single port. Is this serial coding used on a beetle engine? Thanks.
Ian Jones Replied
Many engines have been rebuilt over time the 13,15 and 16 are all the same except the pistons and barrels so if it’s had a top end rebuild it could be a 1641 regardless of the engine number.

Help needed. I have just had the MOT on my van & need welding on nearside & o side front inner sills plus others ! Failed!! The washers also need xing so can anyone recommend a welder near Fordingbridge as I am desperate and anyone who can help with the washers. The tax also expires at the end of the month so I need to get my MOT ASAP. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Just bought a new Bosch S4 004 battery
for the bus from Costco for £63.58. In the tyre tting section, they have a large range of Bosch units on a rack.

Good tip, will head there this weekend!
