Now see what the three generals did. David longing for the waters that were at Bethlehem in the territory of the enemies of God (the Philistine) indicates the desire Jesus has for the lost souls. He is the Bishop of our souls. 1 Peter 2:25 says:
For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
However, lost souls are literally in the hands of the enemies of God (the Devil, demons and the world). It is your job to rescue them by the grace that God supplies into your life. The carnal world is vulnerable to people who have not yet come to God. However, it is not too late for you to help them.
