Abel also secured himself divine favor and a good report in the presence of God by his excellent sacrifice to God. Hebrews 11:4:
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
Through one outstanding, heartfelt and God pleasing sacrifice offered before God, God declared him righteous. Sacrificial people are God pleasers. You see, Abraham was a man of sacrifice; no wonder God had no choice, but to call him his friend. If God is your friend then you are not permitted to suffer setbacks in life. 2 Chronicles 20:7 reads:
Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever?
You can’t be God’s friend and still remain stranded in life. Not at all! All God’s friend, by the virtue of the deliberate sacrifice they offer to God for the sake of God and his people, are entitled to undeniable success and prosperity.
