Understanding the Divine Secrets
When God is your defense you are completely covered by his divine protection. It is only what can get at God that will get at you. No one gets at God or goes against God and survives. So don’t be afraid: you are absolutely safe! God has become your stronghold through the covenant relationship you have with him in Christ Jesus. In life you require God’s defense in order for you to go very far. Life is full of oppositions and shocks, such that without God’s defense you will wear out. The roadway to destiny is full of opposition and potholes. Psalm 138:7 says:
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.
If God becomes your defense everything that was supposed to have fallen on you falls on him; however, nothing falls on God and survives. God is a consum- ing fire. It is your choice to make God your defense. One of the things that will help you secure God’s defense is returning to God by renewing your covenant relationship with him in all ways at your disposal.
