How to get Panyee Island
Rent a car and drive early from Muang
Phang Nga to the Surakul pier in Phang Nga,
then rent a longtail boat which will take you
there within 20 minutes.
Koh Panyi (Koh Panyee) is a surprising village almost entirely built on stilts in Phang Nga
Bay near the famous James Bond Island. Koh Panyi is a very unusual and exciting site to
discover, but it can be hectic, especially at lunchtime because of the many seafood
restaurants welcoming all the visitors. The trick is to get there early and be the only visitor in
the village.
Moreover, there are also plenty of local shopping
stores which mostly sell several charming local products
which any visitor have come here are supposed to take
back at least one thing from this island.
Of course, being a Muslim Village, the moques is the
most important place to gather all inhabitants in the village,
especially in inportant celebration or religious ceremony of
Islam. For this reason, the biggest muslim village on the island
has also such remarkable and beautiful mosque decorated
luxuriously both inside and outside which enables viewers feel
amazed.
