  Brunch & Learn
Join us for a new monthly series! Each month we will feature a program just for seniors. Throughout this series, participants will have opportunities to meet our on-site educators, listen to guest presenters and take part in various natural resource-themed activities. All programs begin at 9 a.m. and include pastries, coffee and tea upon entry. At 9:30 a.m., presentations will begin, so sit back and enjoy your snack during an exciting and informative program, then wrap up with time to explore the OAC exhibits.
FEE: $6 PER PERSON; PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED • PAYMENT CAN BE MADE FOR GROUPS OR INDIVIDUALS

Join us for a breathtaking view of the Detroit River as Scott Pratt of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources describes the best features of our major park properties and spotlights some hidden gems within our state park system. Mr. Pratt is an engaging speaker, and his presentation will help you plan your next trip!

Detroit was founded in 1701 as a fur-trading post in the wilderness. We'll explore how the abundant natural resources of the Detroit River shaped our local history and discover the roles of Native Americans and the French voyageurs during the era of the fur trade here in Michigan and the Great Lakes. Audience participation will be a big part of this presentation!
