Funding: Why we need it Sponsorship
ABC has historically been a fees-based club with grant support for uniforms. However, this means if we want to subsidise any area of the club (for example Premier, Student, Youth, Coaching), other areas of the club have had to carry the additional cost.
Three years ago, we decided to recruit a new head coach to lead our Premier Men’s team and to support and guide the other club coaches and extend our development pathways.
Having James Coughlan, an ex-Black Sticks player in this role has allowed us to provide the best coaching and growth for the players coming through our youth programme, which we have spent ten years working hard to develop.
The success of this initiative has led directly to an increased number of teams and registered players, and we have only been able to achieve this with the incredibly generous support we received from a private business partner.
Funded Programmes
With the successes we have achieved so far in club expansion, and the genuine engagement we are getting from our next generation of hockey players, we need to put the building blocks in place to support these programmes into the future, and that means sponsorship.
So, what do we want to fund and why?
