What was your first job? Intern for international business department in OFF-CORSS, a
Colombian company that manufactures kids clothing. As part of my responsibilities I did market
researches to uncover new markets and prospects within the markets were the company was
exporting products which resulted in a few leads from Ecuador and Venezuela. I got to understand
their business so well that they invited me to stay working for them while I was completing my
university studies with a unique project, to organize their international retailer inventory, which I
did and then was implemented in the local retailers in Colombia. I learned how to navigate
corporate structures with them and they allowed me to have a first exposure to the commercial
world, which is what I enjoy the most.
What is your favorite quote? “Do or Do Not… There is no try” I’ll let everyone figures out who it
comes from.
How would you spend one million dollars?
I don’t think I would spend 1MM if I had them… I would invest 1MM.
I’ll put that money to work for me and eventually I would spend dividends.
If you were famous, what would you be famous for?
Happiness, I try to look at the bright side of all situations in life, trying to get the most out of every
experience, especially difficult ones. I try to live a joyful life and that’s why I try to smile most of the
times and try not to get upset easy. Don’t get me wrong, I do get upset from time to time, however I
move on and go back to happiness mode immediately.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why?
The mountains! I grew up in the Colombian mountains and I love them! The sights and the
possibility to enjoy different terrains/climate gets my attention.
They also remind me how powerful mother nature can be, which keeps me humble.
What is one word that you would use to describe your team? Execution
What is one of your hobbies?
Photography. I got this hobby from my Dad, when I received for my 17th birthday his entire
photography kit (back when a 35mm film was needed in order to produce an image). I joined
photography clubs in high school and college where I learned some of the physics associated to the
light and the different combinations of diaphragm size, shutter speed and film silver levels.
I’ve lived through the evolution to digital photography but still keep my old 35mm Cannon.
Now days I enjoy taking pictures with Matthew and Emily (my kids) to keep memories of their
toddler days.
