KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.
BEAT THOSE
WEDDING DAY
NERVES
Even the biggest celebrities get nervous before a walk down the
red carpet and for you it will be no different. You will, however,
be surrounded by family and friends so remember you are not
alone. Follow our easy guide to beating wedding day jitters and
you’ll have those butterflies sorted in no time.
Get plenty of rest Get as much sleep as possible the night before.
Avoid drinking alcohol before your big day unless you want to
add ‘hangover’ to your wedding day list - you want to be relaxed
and refreshed. If you can’t sleep there are plenty of herbal
remedies available to calm nerves and help you get a good
night’s sleep.
Most important meal A wholesome breakfast is vital to provide
you with the essential energy you need to make it through the
day. Stress is managed better on a full stomach. If the thought
of a full English makes you feel queasy then consider a few slices
of toast with your favourite jam.
Manage your expectations You should know by now that not
everything ever goes according to plan, so prepare for a few
things to run astray - you can’t control everything. Remember
that your guests have no expectations of the day, all they want to
do is share in your happiness.
Coping with stress Whilst managing your own stress is very
important sometimes managing third-party stress is even more
so. Try not to surround yourself with people who will stress you
out. This, unfortunately, often applies to the mother-of-the-
bride, so if you know she’s going to drive you potty then try to
keep her busy and out of your way. If it all appears too much to
handle, then your bridesmaids should step in to keep tiresome
people at bay.
Delegation It’s okay to delegate but be careful not to come
across too bossy or demanding. Everyone knows this day is
about you but the last thing you want is to turn into Bridezilla
and alienate your friends and family whose support you need
the most.
