KEITH TARTER
Major League Equipment & Home Clubhouse Manager
In his 29th season in the organization, 2019 marks Keith’s ninth
consecutive year as the Angels' Equipment & Home Clubhouse Manager. He
first joined the organization in 1991, serving as a batboy for three seasons
(1991-93), before advancing to the clubhouse staff in 1994. After serving as
the Angels Assistant Equipment Manager for 15 seasons, he was promoted
to his current position in November 2009. front office
An Anaheim, CA native, Tarter graduated from Katella High School. He attended Rancho Santiago
Community College (Santa Ana, CA) before studying landscape design at Fullerton (CA) Community
College.
Tarter and his wife, Lisa, reside in Corona, CA with twins, Kash and Emma.
BRIAN “BUBBA” HARKINS
Visiting Clubhouse Manager
Beginning his 30th season as visiting clubhouse manager, Brian Harkins
oversees clubhouse accomodations for opponents at Angel Stadium. He began
his career with the organization in 1981 as an Angels batboy for three seasons
(1981-83).
After a brief stint outside the organization, Harkins returned to the Angels
in 1986 as a clubhouse attendant. He was promoted to assistant visiting
clubhouse manager & umpires room attendant in 1988. Harkins was appointed as visiting clubhouse
manager in 1990 and honored as ‘Visiting Clubhouse Manager of the Year’ by MLB equipment
managers in 2005.
An Anaheim, CA native, Harkins graduated from Katella High School in 1984 and played catcher at
Mt. San Antonio Community College (Walnut, CA) in 1985. He is a member of the MLB Equipment
Managers Association Scholarship Committee that awards academic scholarships to MLB batboys.
Harkins also participates in the annual ‘Groundkeeper’s Canned Food Drive’ at Angel Stadium, giving
tours of the clubhouse to fans who donate canned food.
In January 2016, Brian married the former Paula Kelsheimer. Harkins has two daughters, Hayley and
Hannah, and a son, Hayden.
SHANE DEMMITT
Assistant Equipment Manager
Shane began a career in baseball in 1995 working in stadium operations for
the Toronto Blue Jays’ Class-A affiliate in the South Atlantic League (SAL). He
then joined stadium operations at Tempe Diablo Stadium (AZ) in 1997 and the
Angels Major League Club as a clubhouse attendant in 2004. Demmitt was pro-
moted to Angels Assistant Equipment Manager after the 2009 campaign.
A native of Maryland, he has a Bachelor of Science degree in sports management
from West Virginia University and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School. In
February 2012, Demmitt was a contestant on MLB Network’s gameshow ‘Baseball IQ’ and ultimately won
the competition, raising $45,000 in prize money for the Angels Baseball Foundation. He resides in Irvine, CA
and has been a member of the California State Bar since 2002.
HECTOR "H" VAZQUEZ
Umpires Room Attendant
Hector Vazquez begins his 23rd season in the Angels organization, 11th in
his current role as umpires room attendant. He initially worked with the Club
as a ball boy (1997-99) & bat boy (2000-01) before joining the clubhouse staff
assisting players and coaches with day-to-day preparation (2002-08).
Vazquez served as Team Mexico’s Equipment Manager during the 2013
World Baseball Classic. The Katella High School graduate and wife, Erica, have
two daughters, Joana (13) and Valentina (3), and reside in Corona, CA.
