BRIAN SCHULZ, M.D.
Team Orthopedic Physician
Brian Schulz, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon out of the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic
specializing in ligament, meniscus, and cartilage injuries of the knee, shoulder
instability and labral tears, rotator cuff injuries, Tommy John surgery,
shoulder reconstruction, upper and lower extremity fracture management,
and advanced arthroscopic and open surgical techniques for sports-related
injuries of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee.
Dr. Schulz began his studies at the University of Kentucky and earned a bachelor of science

degree in biology, before going on to medical school at the University of Louisville School of
Medicine in Louisville, KY. He completed his residency at Columbia University Medical Center/New
York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was administrative chief resident. Dr. Schulz went on to train
as a Kerlan-Jobe Sports Medicine Fellow and is an active researcher, publishing multiple papers
and book chapters.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Orthopedic
Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the
American Orthopedic Association (AOA) Emerging Leaders Program.
2019 marks the third season with the Angels for Dr. Schulz. He has been a consultant for a variety
of professional, collegiate and high school athletic teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers,
Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Sparks, Los Angeles KISS, West
Los Angeles College and Fullerton College.
STEVE YOON, M.D.
Team Orthopedic Physician
Steve Yoon, M.D. joined the Angels in 2017 as a team orthopedic
physician. He is the Director of Orthobiologics at the Kerlan-Jobe
Orthopaedic Clinic and specializes in advanced non-surgical biologic
treatments for sports injuries and degenerative joint disease. He also
specializes in the use of image-guided and minimally invasive techniques
for many orthopedic conditions.
Dr. Yoon is a consultant to many athletes throughout the NBA, MLB, NFL
and NHL in addition to other organizations including the United States
Tennis Association (USTA), PGA and LPGA tour, and Team USA for both the Summer and Winter
Olympics. He is also a consultant with several local teams including the Los Angeles Lakers, Los
Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks,
Los Angeles Sparks and the Loyola Marymount University Athletic Department.
Upon earning his medical doctorate within his home state at the University of Alabama, Dr.
Yoon completed his residency at the NYU Medical Center and Hospital for Joint Disease, where
he was named Chief Resident. He followed his residency with a subspecialty fellowship and
board certification in interventional pain medicine at the UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Yoon's work with professional athletes has been recognized in many media outlets
including the Los Angeles Times, Sports Illustrated, CNN and ESPN. He is a member of the
Major League Baseball Team Physicians Association (MLBTPA), American Orthopedic Society
for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
(AAPMR). Dr. Yoon continues to be published in journals and book chapters as well as lecture
regionally and nationally.
