Distribution is delivering the right product, at the right time, in the right condition, into right set
of hands. No company can survive without an effective distribution system. Physical distribution Warehouse Safety Rules and Procedures
involves a series of activities from order processing, inventory control, transportation and logistics,
packaging of materials and customer service. The distribution process if affected by several factors. CHAPTER OVERVIEW
The factors could be related to Product itself or Market and Competition and External Environment
or with the company itself. “Nothing is more important than the safety of the people and goods stored inside the warehouse”.
This chapter introduces students to rules and procedures to be observed for storing hazardous

Lecture 2 describes the concept of 5S at the warehouse. Its importance and the way it can contribute
towards the functioning of the warehouse. Various safety equipment which are bring used inside the
warehouse. The classification and nature of various Personal Protection Equipment.
