at a rate of 1.54 hours per pay period if you work a 40 hour work week. If you are
scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, but more than 30 hours, your accrual
rate will be prorated based on your work schedule.
When taking vacation, provided you have accrued sufficient vacation days, the
minimum amount of time you must take is one-half (1/2) day, unless you receive prior
approval from your supervisor. Temporary, Variable or Seasonal employees are not
entitled to vacation. Employees who are inactive or on a leave of absence or are
suspended will not earn or accrue vacation for the period in which they are inactive, on
leave or suspended.
Vacation may be carried over from one year to the next until you have carried over a
total of 1.75 times your annual vacation entitlement. Once you accrue the maximum
allowable vacation, you will stop accruing vacation until some portion of the accrued
vacation time is used, thereby reducing the amount of accrued vacation below the cap.
Accordingly, you may not, at any time, have more than 8.75 days of accrued, unused
vacation.
Request forms (Employee Leave Request) for vacation are available from the
leadership team and are to be submitted to the employee’s immediate supervisor and
approved prior to granting time off. Employees are asked to submit requests for
vacation at least one month prior to the scheduled vacation date, unless the request is
due to an unexpected situation. Efforts will be made to grant vacation time as
requested, but business needs may require an employee to adjust his or her vacation
time.
Employees who leave the Company will be paid for accrued, unused vacation at the
end of their employment at their base rate of pay at the time of termination. Employees
may not otherwise receive pay in lieu of vacation.
PAID SICK LEAVE
The Company will meet the minimum statutory requirements for paid sick leave for each
location.
All employees who work for the Company in California for 30 or more days per year
after commencing employment will receive 24 hours or three (3) days of paid sick leave
per year at their regular rate of pay. The paid sick leave allotment will be provided to
employees at the beginning of the employees anniversary year for use within the
following twelve (12) month period. Employees are entitled to use paid sick leave after
the conclusion of their first 90 days of employment. Sick leave may be taken in
increments of two hours or more.
Paid sick leave for this purpose may be used for:
