Packing for Camp
It is essential that each and every article of clothing, bedding, sports equipment, flashlight, camera, etc., be marked with your child’s full name. Please use woven or washable printed name tapes that are securely sewn.
All clothing, bedding and personal effects should be packed in duffel bags for simple handling. Duffels should be securely closed and tagged clearly with the camper’s baggage tags, which are mailed to you early in June. The baggage limit is two duffel bags per camper. Tennis equipment, fishing rods and musical instruments may be stowed in the lower compartments on the buses going up to camp.
We do everything to ensure that every camper receives all of his/her laundry back and that he/she returns home with all of the clothing and equipment he/she brought. However we are unable to assume any responsibility for lost items.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO CAMP WITH YOUR CHILD. CONFISCATED ITEMS WILL NOT BE RETURNED AT CAMP.
• Portable DVD players
• Portable/Laptop computers • Laptop computers/Ipads or
any Internet enabled devices • Hair straighteners
• Electric blankets
• Hot Pots / Hot plates / Kettles • Walkie Talkies
• Fans / extension cords
• Folding or lounge chairs
• Candles, lighters, matches
• Vaporizers/ e-cigarrettes
• Swiss Army Knives or pellet guns
• Sharpie markers/permanent markers
• PSP’s and other electronic hand held games are highly discouraged and only permitted to be used during rest time and in the cabin only.
• Please do not bring cases of bottled water to camp. Camp has an ultra- modern water filter system which delivers healthy and delicious drinking water. Bottled water is also available in our tuck shop.
• FOOD & CANDY: For safety reasons, campers and staff are not permitted to bring food, candy or drinks into camp. We have children with life threatening food allergies and we do not want to risk a child having an allergic reaction to a treat brought into the cabin.
• Camp Timberlane is a PEANUT/TREE NUT FREE facility.
CELLULAR PHONES: Please make sure your child does not bring a cellular phone, IPHONE,
IPAD or Blackberry to camp. In the past few years a few older campers have brought them. If they bring them- they use them- and we find them! Confiscated phones WILL NOT be returned.
SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. CONSIDERABLE THOUGHT HAS GONE INTO OUR POLICIES. WE ASK THAT ALL PARENTS AND STAFF SUPPORT OUR POLICIES AND HELP
KEEP OUR CHILDREN BOTH SAFE AND HEALTHY.
