The school context of Erasmus

                                Monareng Secondary school

                                                      Diversity

                   • As Southern Africa is a diverse country, this results in diverse learning

institutions. And this school is exactly that. I observed that there were
quite a number of languages which were native to the learners and offered
in the school. Also the range of cultural difference and a sense of respect
for each for them in particular to the visible attributes in appearance i.e.
beads for the African traditional and head wraps for the Muslims. For me

this did not only mean diversity but it meant the appreciations and
recognition of human rights and promotion of equality on the entire
                       school

                                                  Resourceful

                   • It is not as often that in a township that not only is there availability of
21st century resources but they are accessible and working. By that i
mean, smart boards, computers, including internet access for both leaners

and teachers. Not only do they have them but they are equipped on how
to use these technological resources. Although I found it very concerning
in terms of how manual they were using them. I am not certain if it is the
lack of training or innovation but in my observation, there was a lack of
                       creative innovative ways to explore
