            THE TOPOGRAPHICAL METHOD

The unconscious. According to Freud, it continues to influence our behavior and experiences,
even though we are unaware of these underlying influences. It can include repressed feelings,
hidden memories, habits, thoughts, desires, and reactions.

The conscious. consists of everything inside of our awareness. This is the aspect of our mental
processing that we can think and talk about in a rational way.

The subconscious. Includes all mental activities which are not presently active but stored
somewhere in our memory. It can be easily accessed when required.
