                         INSTITUTIONAL GROUP AGERCIES FOR EDUCATION



            Objective:

                 To identify the different institutional group agencies for education and understand

                   their contributions to the learning process and development of the learners.






            I. FAMILY - the basic unit in society traditionally consisting of two parents rearing their
            children.

            A. Structure

            1.Conjugal - is a nuclear family that may consist of a married couple and their children (by

            birth or adoption) or a couple who are unmarried or underage.

            2.Consanguine - is a family whereby the nuclear family lives with other relatives under one
            roof.




            B. Number of Spouses



            1. Monogamy - is a form of relationship in which an individual has only one partner during
            their  lifetime—alternately,  only  one  partner  at  any  one  time  —as  compared  to  non-
            monogamy.

            2. Polygamy - is the practice of marrying multiple spouses. When a man is married to more
            than one wife at a time, sociologists call this polygyny. When a woman is married to more

            than one husband at a time, it is called polyandry.

            2.a Polyandry - is a form of polygamy in which a woman takes two or more husbands at the
            same time.

            2.b Polygamy - is the practice of marrying multiple spouses. When a man is married to more
            than one wife at a time, sociologists call this polygyny.

            2.c Cenogamy - is that type of marriage in which a group of men marry a group of women.
