The Veterans Unit:
One Man’s Hope

Regardless of whether they served in Vietnam, the Gulf, Iraq, or
Afghanistan, many returning veterans face the same predictable, yet difficult task,
of finding a sense of purpose in the civilian world
This article examines a few of the recent criminal justice measures aimed
at assisting veterans rather than incarcerating them. Many of these measures
are provided in larger, heavily populated urban areas and are not practical at
this time for small rural areas due to the cost and lack of resources available.
However, if they continue to have success, it is possible that they will eventually
make their way to small rural areas as well.
