Disability
LONG TERM DISABILITY
Kate Somerville offers all employees two options when selecting their Long Term Disability coverage. You may elect to have Kate
Somerville cover the cost of your premium resulting in a taxable benefit at point of claim or you may elect to have the premium
deducted from your payroll resulting in a tax-free benefit at point of claim.
This coverage provides financial assistance if you are unable to work for an extended period of time due to an illness or injury.

Maximum Amount $14,000
Less Any Amount Payable by Social Security Income (SSI) and State Disability
Elimination Period 90 Days
Benefit Duration SSNRA– Social Security
Normal Retirement Age
Pre-existing Conditions 3 month look back; 12 month exclusion of pre-existing condition found during
the 3 month look back
SHORT TERM DISABILITY
If you are unable to work for a short period of time (12 weeks or less) because of an illness of injury, Short Term Disa-
bility (STD) benefits may replace a percentage of your pay. We offer employees Short-Term Disability coverage which
is administered by Lincoln Financial.

This coverage is provided by Kate Somerville at no cost to you. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides you and your
household members with free, confidential assistance to help with problems that may interfere with work or family
responsibilities.
EAP SERVICES
• 24/7 phone consultations with licensed mental health professionals and referrals to supportive resources.
• For Non-California residents, you are eligible for up to four in-person sessions per person, per issue, per year.
• Online programs to offer something different that traditional counseling.
• Access to quick and confidential help from legal and financial experts.
