performing your regular conscious activities. You use this layer most when
you are concentrating on learning new things and understanding new
concepts. As you learn the reasons behind a pattern of thought or activity,
and practice this understanding over and over again, it gradually becomes a
                          part of your subconscious mind.

Your Subconscious is the second layer of your mind. This part of your mind
can help you perform the most amazing services if you know how to access
them. Some of the things that the subconscious mind can do may seem like
some kind of magic at first. Once you learn how these feats are
accomplished, you will see that magic is nothing more than physics. It is
simply energy and will power in action together.

The subconscious mind holds all of your past memories and experiences. It
also contains things you have memorized or have learned by practicing them
over and over again. Eventually, they have literally become a part of your
mind. One of the many miracles of the subconscious mind is the way in
which it keeps the physical body properly coordinated.

This is the part of the mind that adjusts hormone levels, controls respiration
and heartbeat, and other involuntary bodily functions. Your subconscious
mind knows more than even the most highly educated Doctors when it comes
to the way your body works.

To use your subconscious mind to its fullest advantage, you need to
understand how it works. Its function is to provide you with learning
experiences. This is the area of your mind that responds to pictures and other
oral stimuli. Whatever you place your awareness on, whether it is an
unquenchable desire or a deep-seated fear, your subconscious mind will create
the experience for you. This part of your mind does not have preconceived
notions about pleasant and unpleasant experiences the way that our conscious
mind does. It merely gives us what we ask for, and it assumes we are asking
for something when we think about it. Remember, a thought is a thing,
                          especially in our subconscious mind!
