UNITS FOR MEASURING LENGTH

There are several units for measuring length but in this class we will learn

only about centimetre (cm) and metre (m).

Measuring tape

Centimetre (cm)

This is a small unit of length. It is used to measure small lengths such as
the length of a pen, a pencil, book and so on. Centimetre is written as cm in
short form.

Metre (m)

This is the standard unit of length. It is used to measure the length of a wall,

cloth, height of a tower and so on. Metre is written as m in short form.

Pencil is 8 cm long Paintbrush is 13 cm long
