2 What unit of capacity is more suitable for the given objects—litres (L) or

                      millilitres (mL)?

                      (a) (b) (c) (d)

                    ___________ ___________ ___________ ___________

3 Choose the best answer from the box. Use a coloured pencil to put a tick (ü).

                      (a) Capacity of a teaspoon 150 mL 50 mL 5 mL

                      (b) Capacity of a glass 25 mL 250 mL 500 mL

                      (c) Capacity of a water bottle 300 mL 3 L 30 L

                      (d) Capacity of a bucket 250 mL 2 L 12 mL

                      (e) Capacity of a car fuel tank 5 L 4 0 L 750 mL

                      (f) Capacity of a water tanker 5 L 50 L 500 L

               CONVERSION OF CAPACITY

               Litres into millilitres

As we know, 1 L = 1000 mL. To convert L into mL, multiply by 1000.

l Convert 5 litres (L) into millilitres (mL).

                     5 L = 5 × 1000 mL = 5000 mL

Convert 6 litres (L) 523 millilitres (mL) into millilitres (mL).
               l
                    6 L 523 mL = 6 × 1000 mL + 523 mL = 6000 mL + 523 mL = 6523 mL

                                                                 90
