Who owns The Impact Center?
Word Tabernacle Church owns The Impact Center.
What are the future property tax implications for The Impact Center?
The property tax implications have yet to be determined. Churches and other religious organizations are
required to pay property tax for land or buildings not used exclusively for religious or educational purposes. We
will work with local tax officials to determine the proper calculation based on building use. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s)
Who benefits from The Impact Center?
Public K-12 education, colleges, community colleges, healthcare systems, workforce development boards,
churches, local businesses, not-for-profits, chambers of commerce, foundations, trusts, city, county, and state
government as well as the individuals, families, and stakeholders they represent.
How will you make shared use official?
Our policies will outline the practices allowing the community access to The Impact Center.
In summary, why is The Impact Center necessary to the Twin Counties and surrounding communities?
On average, the northern, southern, and the western regions of North Carolina, provide 259% greater access to
facilities (and essentially programs) to develop people and communities compared to the eastern part of North
Carolina. The Impact Center provides a platform for all community stakeholders to benefit from a large-scale,
catalytic, shared investment which enables people to thrive socially, scholastically, physically, financially, and
spiritually.
