Using Advanced Features
Even if you’ve never used OneNote before, getting started with the app is easy. The intuitive ribbon commands are similar across all Office apps, so they don’t require a lot of training. There are some handy features, however, that may not be apparent. Here’s the story.
Viewing and restoring page versions
Sometimes coauthoring notebooks with other users can create undesirable results. For example, say a coworker overwrote your carefully worded instructions in your onboarding notebook for new employees. Not to worry. A page version is saved every time someone edits a shared notebook. OneNote Online allows you to view, restore, or delete previous versions of the page. To do this, follow these steps:
1. GototheViewtabandclickthePageVersionsicon.
You see a list of all the page versions listed under the page name on the left
pane with a date stamp and the author’s name.
2. Clickanyoftheversionstoviewit.
3. Afteryoudeterminetherightversiontorestore,right-clicktheversionto
display the option to hide, restore, or delete it.
When you click on a previous version, you see a notification bar at the top of the page indicating that the version is read-only (see Figure 14-6).
