versioning nightmares, lack of content discoverability, scheduling confusion, and misalignment on project goals and objectives. On top of that, you can do all your work with a modern, clutter-free interface that automatically responds to the size of your screen. You no longer have to be sitting in front of your desktop computer to interact with SharePoint. You can take it anywhere with you — on your smart- phone or tablet where you have an Internet connection.
Choosing between Team sites and Communication sites
SharePoint sites are the building blocks for your intranet. The search and discov- ery features are fantastic so it’s easy to find documents across the entire intranet with keyword searches.
With SharePoint, you always have options. If you want to create a site, you have a choice between two templates: Team sites and Communication sites. Both tem- plates are provisioned the same way, but there are considerations for using one versus the other. Figure 5-2 outlines the best uses of each template.

Creating a Team site
A SharePoint site using the Team site template has one additional feature the Communication site doesn’t have. A Team site includes a group email address so you can collaborate with your team via email. This functionality is called Office 365 Groups or Groups for short, which is covered in the next section in this chapter.
