At the end of the citation, The Hon. Kenneth Benjamin advances and faces the Chancellor. THE CHANCELLOR takes The Hon. Kenneth Benjamin by the hand and says:
“BY THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY THE SENATE AND THE COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES, I NOW CONFER UPON YOU THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF LAWS HONORIS CAUSA OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES.”
THE CHANCELLOR hands Dr. The Hon. Kenneth Benjamin his scroll and shakes his hand. THE CHANCELLOR caps Dr. The Hon. Kenneth Benjamin.
Dr. The Hon. Kenneth Benjamin caps the Chancellor and returns to his seat.
The Ceremony continues with the award of the other Honorary Degree.
THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR caps the Chancellor and calls on the Public Orator saying:
“CHANCELLOR, I NOW ASK THE PUBLIC ORATOR, DR. MICHAEL BUCKNOR, TO PRESENT MR. LLOYD WILLIAMS WHOM THE SENATE AND THE COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY HAVE BEEN PLEASED TO RECOMMEND FOR THE AWARD OF THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF LAWS HONORIS CAUSA.”
THE PUBLIC ORATOR caps the Chancellor and presents Mr. Lloyd Williams.
Mr. Lloyd Williams steps forward and stands whilst the Public Orator reads the citation. At the end of the citation, Mr. Lloyd Williams advances and faces the Chancellor.
THE CHANCELLOR takes Mr. Lloyd Williams by the hand and says:
“BY THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY THE SENATE AND THE COUNCIL OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES, I NOW CONFER UPON YOU THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF LAWS HONORIS CAUSA OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES.”
