marks after that. In order to utilize the vacant land of the properties he had purchased, Jacob Michelsen had the existing buildings demolished and half of the stone building, whose cellar arches were preserved, rebuilt in 1519. It became a three-story building with a high gable facing Adelgatan, and he had a slat e plaque with a now hidden German inscription added to the front of the building, which read "ANNO MDXIX Wat kpnde" to commemorate the construction. The western wall of the building rested on a thick wall built through the old cellar arches. The lower two floors were occupied by Jacob Michelsen and his family, and the preserved half of the stone building was rented out to Truid the goldsmith until his death in 1534. Access to the large plot/bod was through an entrance from Kyrkoga- tan, where the property, including 352 on that street, extended.
During the meeting of the king in Malmo in August-September 1524, the recess of Malmo was signed at the city hall on Ostergatan, where the Da- nish king Frederick I stayed with Jacob Michelsen as his guest, while King Gustav Vasa stayed with Jorgen Kock in his house on Västergatan. Jacob Michelsen agreed to the re-alignment of the street building lines, at the same time as the other property owners in the same neighborhood, as de- termined by the mayor and council in 1527. In the decision of the mayor and council, it was decided that the southern side of Adelgatans property boundary lines for properties in block number 43 Svanen from Anders Harckes street (Kansligatan) to the corner of Jacob's goldsmith's street (Goran Olsgatan) would be re-aligned, and the following land areas of the street would be allocated to the properties, with the right for the property owners to build on them in exchange for a purchase price to the city for the land per square meter, namely:
1. Anders Harcke's property with a trading booth (the western half of number 353, II), an area from south to north of 4 alnar 1 quarter in width and from west to east of 31 alnar 1 quarter in length; purchase price of 1 mark 8 shillings.
2. Jacob Michelsen's property, comprising two trading booths and a stair gable house (the eastern half of number 353, II), an area from south to north of 3 alnar 1 quarter and from west to east of 31 alnar; purchase price of 100 mark 12 shillings.
3. Michell Hwes (Huvas) property or trading booth (number 346, the easternmost part of number II), an area from south to north of 4 alnar 1 quarter and from west to east of 1 and 1/2 alnar; purchase price of 44 1/2 mark.
