1894, and held the cellar operation under the aforementioned condi- tions in 1870, assisted by only one server. Gustav Sandell later owned Hotel Svea for a few years. From "innkeeper G. Sandell's time, we can provide some interesting information about the prices of the food and drinks served at Tunneln according to a bill from a sergeant, who on November 14, 1870, was ordered by the court of appeal to pay 5 risk- daler 66 ore rmt and 5 riksdaler in court costs according to his own statement.
Tunneln restaurant operation was run by the restaurateur Miss Bertha Persson, born on May 25, 1842, during the years 1871-1875. During this time, serving of drinks was allowed until 11 PM, but from Sep- tember 4, 1875, with permission from the city council, this was ex- tended until 12 PM. In his request for the extension of serving, Friis cited as the main reason that restaurateur Bertha Persson had made an agreement with several of the performers at the city's theater for their meals after the end of the performances.
