Handing over the reins at Fort Erie
The voice of Fort Erie Racetrack 29 years, race caller, Daryl Wells Jr. is the microphone in 2006 as he shifts his focus at the track for a change of pace.
Daryl Wells Jr. will remain at the racetrack in the capacity of Director of Media and Communications, a job which he has been doing for a number of years now.

Taking over the track announcer position will be
local Fort Erie
trainer Daryl Ezra
who is no stranger to the business of race calling.
Ezra who has been training thor- oughbreds at Fort Erie for the past eleven years, won a call-a-race contest at Woodbine when he was sixteen and in 1988 began calling races at various Ontario harness tracks. He spent four years calling harness races and during that period announced Steeplechase races and also had the chance to fill in for Ross Morton call- ing thoroughbreds at Finger Lakes. He began his training career in 1992.
