Jim Phillips, a retired animal health executive and equestrian, created the “I Like Mike” campaign in an effort to raise awareness of the Thoroughbred’s versatility and athletic ability while on their way to competing in the Retired Racehorse Project’s Thoroughbred Makeover Competition at Kentucky Horse Park. The I Like Mike Campaign raised funds in excess of $20,000 for LongRun with Jim matching all donations.

Owner Ivan Dalos has experienced burgeoning success as his talented band of horses bred by his Tall Oaks Farms continue to hit the racetrack in remarkable fashion.
An owner for more than two decades one can map the progression of his  ourishing breeding operation which earned his Tall Oaks Farm the 2017 Sovereign Award for Outstanding Breeder.
His top  ve runners to date are by mares or grandmares Ivan has run back in the day:
Amis Gizmo - Graded Stakes winning horse of more than $1million is by Giant Gizmo - Galloping Ami whose mare is the Ivan Dalos runner Secret Ami
Gamble’s Ghost - Multiple Graded Stakes winning mare of
more than $1million is by Ghost Zapper - Gambling Girl, a runner in 1996 -1997 under the name of Ivan’s daughter Colleen.
Ami’s Holiday - A Graded Stakes winning horse by Harlan’s Holiday - Victorious Ami, a runner in 2004-2005
Ami’s Mesa - Multiple Graded Stakes winning mare of more than $788,000 by Sky Mesa also out of the mare Victorious Ami
Ami’s Flatter - Graded Stakes winning horse of more than $500,000 by Flatter out of the mare Galloping Ami a half brother to top earner Amis Gizmo
After their most recent races this year both 5 year old mares Ami’s Mesa and Gamble’s Ghost have now been retired to join the Tall Oaks Farm broodmare band.
Ami’s Mesa retires with 6 wins and 2 seconds in her 13 lifetime starts. At age 2 she won the Glorious Song Stakes and was the winner of the G3 Ontario Matron, the G3 Seaway, the G2 Presque Isle Downs Masters Stakes, and was second in the G1 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint as a four year old.
Gamble’s Ghost retires
a Multiple Graded Stakes winner of 10 of her 21 career starts. She was
the winner of the G3 Mazarine Stakes at age 2. In her 3 year-old season she won the G3 Selene Stakes and was second in the Woodbine Oaks also running in the Queen’s Plate and the Wonder Where Stakes. She is
a two time winner of the Belle Mahone Stakes (2017 & 2018) and won the G3 Maple Leaf in 2017, the G3 Trillium and G3 Ontario Matron in 2018. She was retired after  nishing third in this year’s running of the G3 Maple Leaf.
