First 250th Anniversary Commemorative Mile
The team managing the 250th Anniversary of Horse Racing in Canada #cdnhorseracing250 has been busy working with racetracks, agricultural societies, industry associations and farms putting together activities and celebrations of this monumental milestone in Canada’s horse racing history.
The rst of 250 commemorative miles across the country throughout 2017 took place as part of the Mother’s Day Open House at Mac Lilley Farms last Sunday, May 14th.
In the coming weeks, look for 250th Anniversary displays and
merchandise available at the following track events: May 20th – Mohawk Racetrack Fireworks Night, May 21st – Flamboro Downs – Confederation Cup, May 28th – Grand River Raceway – Open House, Thank you to industry partners Standardbred
Canada, Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society, HBPA, COSA, OHHA, ASHA, and Harness Racing BC for their nancial contributions to this year’s celebration.

Il Sogno Dream and Alex Lilley completed the rst of 250 Commemorative Miles for the 250th Anniversary of Horse Racing in Canada at Mac Lilley Farms on May 14. The mile was also in recognition of the farm’s 50th year of operation.
2016 Breeders Awards
Saturday, May 20 - the CTHS Alberta Division is hosting their Night of Champions at Century Casino in Edmonton. CFL Hall of Fame Legend Henry ‘Gizmo’ Williams is the Keynote Speaker as they celebrate the accomplishments of the Alberta Thoroughbred Industry in 2016. Click here for a list of the nominees
This evening will also be the launch of the 250th Anniversary of Horse Racing in Canada celebrations in Alberta.
Friday, June 9 - CTHS Ontario Division will host their 35th Annual Awards dinner honouring the Outstanding Breeders of 2016 at Lionhead Golf & Country Club. Tickets are $75 plus HST and you must RSVP before May 26. More info click here
