Photo Right: Guy Caballero, bred and owned by Sean and Dorothy Fitzhenry, a now three year old gelding by Quality Road out of the Fitzhenry’s mare Dixie Chicken (Rahy). A stakes placed winner in 4 starts in 2016, Guy Caballero, named after the  ctional SCTV President, won his second start in maiden special weight company (giving jockey Rafael Hernandez his 2000th career win) and was impressive when stepping up to stakes company in his last start  nishing third in the Display Stakes December 3, 2016 at Woodbine. Trained by Catherine Day Phillips, who also trained the mare Dixie Chicken, Guy Caballero shipped into Woodbine on February 28 to get ready for his three-year-old campaign.

International Horse Transport (IHT) driver Dale Brady was busy shipping in horses at Woodbine. Dale, who usually does the Western routes for IHT was called in to help with the Woodbine shipping requests. IHT is based in Bolton, Ontario.
Photo Right: Getting the mud off The Woodbine backstretch opened for the season on February 27 and training began March 1. Typical for this time of year the weather made it tricky for the grooms to get their horses clean after training.
Ian Dick made multiple runs from Buttigieg Training Centre in Egbert, Ontario (near Alliston) to Woodbine Racetrack bringing 18 horses to the track on February 28.
