Lucky Tec was bred by Charlene Smith’s Smithgate Farm in Ontario on February 15, 1998.
He raced from age 2 to 8 and was a winner each year except his three-year-old campaign when he finished second in his only start that year.

Lucky Tec was claimed by trainer Myckie Neubauer for her Myckie Neubauer Stable and partners R and R Stable and Scott Reichold in August 29, 2005. He won at Woodbine in his last race of the 2005 season.
