orking at a trail riding facility in Niagara Falls,
Ontario, Anne was looking for a project for the annual 4H Achievement Day. Bob Cameron, whose palomino horse was stabled at that same barn offered his horse for the project but it wouldn’t be until a few years later that the sparks would y and the pair would marry.
Anne was working for a veterinarian whose practice included caring for small animals, farm animals as well as the animals at Marine Land and the local humane society. Anne answered the phone when Bob had called and thus began their lives together.
At the time when they reconnected Bob and Anne were still both involved with horses. Anne galloped Quarter Horse racehorses at OQHA President, Walt Scott’s facility, and Bob enjoyed trail and pleasure riding while working full time as an operations manager.
In January 1979 the pair bought their current farm in Pelham, Ontario and began operating as Cameron Training Centre. They were married in March and opened Horse World Tack shop on Pelham Rd. in April.
While Anne was happy working with and showing Quarter Horses, Thoroughbred horse breeder Brian Cullen of Brian Cullen Motors in St. Catharines asked Anne for help breaking and/or rebreaking some of
his Thoroughbred yearlings destined for the sales
or racing. Bob could see that Anne was a natural with the young racehorses and encouraged Anne to consider changing breeds. “Anne was doing great work with theses young Thoroughbred horses and not getting the recognition or bene t.” explained Bob who came home one day with an exercise saddle only to have Anne throw it out the back door.
It would be a trip to a Kentucky Sale in 1987 that would provide the motivation Anne needed to get involved and invested in the Thoroughbreds industry full-time. Anne and Bob purchased a yearling and brought her home to get her ready for the Two- Year-Old in Training Sale at Woodbine. The lly Lot ‘O Style was purchased by Iris Bristow and trainer
Mike Tommaro from new Consignor Cameron Training Centre. Not long after that rst sale, the horse depicted in the Cameron Training Centre logo was changed from a
nondescript horse to a Thoroughbred racehorse.

Cameron Training Centre is located in Ridgeville, Ontario has a ten stall barn, 6 fenced paddocks,
3 with run-in sheds, a 1/2 mile training track as well as an arena, starting gate & outside round pen.
Returning to Kentucky the next few years the Cameron’s began buying weanlings to sell at the yearling sale and also took on clients for their consignment. Early successes such as selling Kristy Krunch who went on to be a multiple stakes winner, encouraged growth of their business.
It became apparent however that buyers were looking for Ontario bred horses which is when they acquired some mares and began breeding to Ontario stallions and foaling in Ontario.
Anne was busy breaking and training young horses at the farm (including the dif cult ones and any over ow of yearlings from Wind elds Farm), and
