What Are you Doing this Winter?

- Moneybru, by Talk is Money, began her career in California before owners, Little Red Feather Racing, shipped her to Julia at Woodbine in June 2015. She won the 2015 La Lorgnette Stakes and in 2016 scored back to back G3 Stakes wins in the Ontario Matron and the Seaway.
Midnight Miley along with stable mates 3YO  lly Cape Mist, owned by Julia and partner Discovery Racing; 5YO mare, Alilaction, owned by Gerald Martin; and 3YO gelding, Conscious Decision, owned by Calico Racing Stable, shipped to Gulfstream Park to race where Julia has six stalls this winter. Two other young horses from Ocala will be starting up at Gulfstream this winter.
Sergio has been an exercise rider with Julia Carey for the past 7 years and he also looks after his own horse at the track, Royal Del Mar. Sergio purchased the Ontario-bred  lly by War Cry - Royal Dalliance, by Tejabo out of the CTHS 2014 Yearling Sale. Unraced at two, the now 3 year-old placed in 4 of her seven starts including a maiden breaking win on October
10 in 2016. Sergio plans to ride at farms for a few months during the winter. When Woodbine reopens he will bring in the horses for Julia until she returns from Florida.
Israel has been working for Julia this past year after many years as a groom for Adena Springs and has plans to take a break this winter.
As he does every winter Hotwalker Michael Moore intends to join three of his childhood friends from the Kettle Point Indian Reserve
Northeast of Sarnia, Ontario to
tend to 4000 head of Holstein cattle at their farm located in Grand Bend. Michael, who works for trainer Catherine Day Phillips at Woodbine, won a Sovereign Award in 1991
for his photo of the Plate Trial Stakes dead heat between Bo- lulight and Megas Vukefalos.

Bolulight, ridden by jockey Don Seymour, was trained by Roger Att eld for owner Kinghaven Farm, breeder was Michael Petritz.
Megas Vukefalos, ridden by MIckey Walls, was trained by Jerome (Jerry) Meyer for owner/breeder Knob Hill Stable.
In the 1991 Queen’s Plate, Megas Vukefalos  nished  fth and Bolulight was sixth. The 1991 Queen’s Plate winner was Canadian Oaks winner Dance Smartly.
Trainer Gord Colbourne will be among a group of eight who are traveling to South Africa via Amsterdam for a month long adventure which began in Zambia

on December 6 . The trip T includes a safari as well as a
10 day cruise for Christmas
and New Year and plans to attend the races in Cape
Town. Upon his return Gord will then head south to Jupiter Florida for the remainder of the winter months.
