Another great day for CARDathon In The Park
The weather co- operated once again, albeit a little too warm, for the annual fund raising event CARDathon in the Park on Saturday, June 17 at G. Ross Lord Park.
CARD is the Community Association for Riding for the Disabled and CARDathon in the Park is an event in which CARD riders, family, volunteers, corporate sponsors and celebrities join together as a team to ride horses through a trail in the park and raise funds by collecting pledges or providing sponsorships.

The mission of CARD
is to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities through quality therapeutic riding programs. This is achieved under the supervision of specially trained physiotherapists, skilled eques- trian staff, and dedicated vol- unteers. CARD riders gain greater physical, cognitive, psychological and social skills, and are introduced to therapeu- tic riding with lifelong benefits including, increased confi- dence and self esteem, improved balance and
coordination, thus improving the riders' quality of life.
This year’s fundraising efforts raised more than $76,000, a little short of their goal of $90,000 however some pledges were still coming in.
For more information about CARD visit www.CARD.ca or call 416-667-8600.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored me on my ride. It was a lot of fun and your donations were greatly appreciated.
